The influence of the historic pilgrims' route to Santiago de Compostela (which since the Middle Ages has run along the northern coast of the Iberian Peninsula, and provided a means of transmitting information) is evident in several churches and hermitages of the muncipality. Worthy of note is the church of Santa Maria de Cudeyo which has exceptional views .
