The thermal tradition first became popular in Solares in the 18th century with the use of mineral-medicinal waters of the Fuencaliente spring. Years later, the first water house was built. Afterwards and because of the success of thermal treatments, it was expanded with luxurious buildings built in neo-Arabic and oriental styles like other European spas.

The importance of this spa is due to the arrival of many clients that came not only for health treatments but also for relaxing holidays. This was the beginning of thermal tourism.
